We hiked up Drakes Brook Trail to the Sandwich Mountain Trail (we were breaking trail, on the Drakes Brook Trail, but there was only 3 inches of snow so it was not difficult.) From here, We took the short side trip to Jennings Peak. Great Views, but the weather on Jennings Peak was cold and windy that we could not stay there long. Then we continued onto Sandwich Mountain. By the time we reached the summit it was snowing and cloudy, but there was no wind on Sandwich Mountain so I had leftover turkey sandwiches from Thanksgiving. Then we continued all the way down the Sandwich Mountain Trail..We barebooted it the whole way. Snow was not deep enough for snow shoes, but the rocks were slippery in a couple of places. Crampons were not necessary. The stream crossing at the beginning and end was a little tricky, but managable.
